(DC)- Maryland and Virginia will work together to replace the American Legion Bridge. Governor Northam and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan made the announcement at a transportation conference in DC yesterday. The new bridge is projected to have a total of eight regular travel lanes, plus two express lanes in each direction. This is part of a larger project to add express toll lanes on Interstate-270 and 495 between Frederick to the Potomac River. The two states hope to break ground on the project in 2022.
