(Richmond)- There’s disappointment after the much-anticipated unveiling of a 19th century time capsule in Richmond. A time capsule found under the Robert E. Lee Statue was opened yesterday, but none of the items inside were what historians expected. Instead of Civil War artifacts and a picture of President Lincoln, what they found included an 1887 English penny and a photo of a man who helped build the statue. One historian says the real time capsule may have been stolen or moved.
