Grant Money For Pandemic School Research

(Richmond)- Virginia has received federal grant money to study how the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on area schools. Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. James Lane said the money will be used to look into things like student absenteeism, grade-level retention, the effectiveness of school reopening and much more. It is a three-year, one-million-dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Officials from the Virginia Department of Education and the University of Virginia will lead the research.
