(Richmond)- New coronavirus restrictions are going into effect today in Virginia. Governor Northam says all gatherings except for churches and schools are limited to 25 people. Masks are now required for anyone over the age of five in public places. In addition, alcohol is prohibited from being sold or consumed after 10 p.m. throughout the state, and all establishments must close by midnight. The Governor is also putting the responsibility on all businesses to better enforce the public health guidelines as the state health department may now issue a Class One misdemeanor for any violators.
