(Richmond)- Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring is hosting a cannabis summit for state lawmakers, agencies and law enforcement. State attorneys general, agencies and legislative operations from other states where cannabis is legal will attend the summit as well. This comes ahead of the 2020 legislative session where policy on cannabis-related issues could be considered. Herring cites the negative impact of criminal convictions involved with possession in his push for cannabis reform. Marijuana criminal enforcement is an estimated cost of 81-million dollars every year.
