(Stafford)- A former Maryland police officer accused in a murder-for-hire plot is in Stafford County court. Cassie Crisano is on trial for allegedly trying to have a Stafford County detective and two former boyfriends killed, all while she was in the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Investigators say she’s been awaiting two other trials related to insurance fraud and an alleged plot to burn down Stafford’s public safety building. The targets in the murder-for-fire plot are all witnesses that could testify against her in the separate trials.
