(Richmond)- The number of heat-related illnesses is up drastically in Virginia compared to last July. Over one-thousand people have been treated since the beginning of the month, which almost doubles July 2018. The Virginia Department of Public Health says four people have died in the past week due to heat. The chief deputy commissioner for public health calls it a serious threat.
