(Richmond)- Governor Northam is vetoing a bill that would’ve prevented the state from joining an initiative to reduce carbon dioxide air pollution. Virginia is set to take part in a program with nine other states called the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative that would put a cap on emissions. Dominion Energy is opposed to the initiative, which it says will disadvantage Virgina generation. The Republican-passed bill would’ve prevented the state from joining without a supermajority vote.
