Man Who Shot Officer Bought Guns Due To “Human Error”

(Richmond)- A man who shot an Alexandria police officer in the head back in 2013 was able to purchase a gun earlier this year.  Kashif Bashir, who was released last year from a mental hospital, was found with two guns on him when he was arrested in Prince William last month for arson.  Virginia State Police conduced an internal review and found that human error occurred during the approval process.
