Oysters Contaminated in So MD

(St. Mary’s County)- A sewage spill is to blame for contaminating oysters in Southern Maryland. According to The-Bay-Net-dot-com, it all happened earlier this month when more than 10-thousand gallons of sewage overflowed into a section of the Potomac River. Officials with the Maryland Department of the Environment were notified but multiple people still got sick after eating the oysters in Virginia. As a result, shellfish harvesting has been shuttered in the area until further notice.
