(Richmond)- Governor Northam says he’s not yet ready to declare a state of emergency over the latest COVID-19 variant. Northam and state health officials are keeping an eye on the new Omicron [[ ahm-ih-cron ]] variant, first detected in South Africa but not yet found in the Commonwealth. The governor says he’s not looking at re-imposting any of the coronavirus restrictions.
