(Louisa)- A portrait of Confederate General Robert E. Lee is coming down soon in a Louisa County courtroom. The decision by a circuit court judge was a complete reversal from ten months ago, when he decided to leave it in place since the state still honored Lee in a holiday at the time. The judge now says the portrait may impair the fair administration of justice due to intense controversy surrounding Lee. The county must remove the painting by September 23rd.
