Parole Board Criticized In Release Of Richmond Cop Killer

(Richmond)-  The state’s inspector general is accusing the parole board of wrong-doing when it granted the release of a Richmond cop killer.  Vincent Lamont Martin was released in June after serving time for the 1979 murder of patrolman Michael Connors, who was shot in the head four times.  State Republican leaders called on the entire parole board to be removed yesterday after an investigative report from the inspector general was released.  The findings revealed the parole board violated several of its own rules, including giving inadequate time for the victim’s family to provide input on its decision.
