Flu Widespread In Virginia Ahead Of Peak Season

(Richmond)- Virginia health officials are saying the influenza virus is now considered wide spread across the state.  It’s the highest level possible on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s one to five scale.  The CDC says it is not too late to get the flu vaccine because it takes up to two weeks for the shot to work effectively.  Health officials also suggest washing your hands, avoid touching your face with unclean hands and having a healthy diet and exercise as an added boost to your immune system.
