DUI Checkpoints Increase In Virginia Before Labor Day

(Richmond)- The state is launching one of its largest efforts in years to combat drunk-driving leading up to Labor Day. This year’s Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign will include 120 checkpoints across the state, with over 600 saturated patrols. The increased effort is in part due to nearly 280 drunk-driving-related deaths last year on Virginia’s roads, which was a 12-percent increase from 2017. Drivers can expect law enforcement to be out in waves now through September 3rd.
