Widows Of State Police Officers File Lawsuit

(Charlottesville)- The widows of two fallen Virginia State Police officers are seeking 50-million-dollars each in wrongful death lawsuits. Berke Bates and Jay Cullen died in a helicopter crash while they were monitoring the governor’s motorcade during the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville. The separate lawsuits claim the helicopter wasn’t properly maintained and in need of repairs. The NTSB still hasn’t ruled on the cause of the crash.
