Stafford County
 
Interstate 95 Northbound at Exit 133
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. Motorists should be alert to crews and construction equipment in the right shoulder of the off-ramp at Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth). They will be replacing the guardrail. 
 
Route 1 at Falmouth Bridge
(Update) Sunday, Wednesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Traffic on northbound and southbound Route 1 at the Falmouth Bridge will be reduced to one lane each evening for bridge deck repairs. Motorists should expect brief delays. All lanes will be open to traffic by 6 a.m.
 
Route 630 (Courthouse Road) at Ramoth Church Road
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Saturday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Motorists can anticipate intermittent single lane closures, shoulder closures and a mobile work zone on Route 630 (Courthouse Road) between Ramoth Church Road and Cedar Lane. Crews will be taking soil samples as part of the Courthouse Road widening project. Expect brief overnight travel delays.
 
Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
 
·         Route 3 (Kings Highway) – shoulder work
·         Route 603 (Caisson Road) ˗˗ shoulder work
·         Route 607 (Ferry Road) ˗˗ drainage work

City of Fredericksburg
 
Interstate 95 Northbound
(New) Tuesday ˗˗ Wednesday, 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue). Crews will be cleaning and staining the new bridge on the northbound side till 1 a.m. then move over to the southbound side. 
 
Interstate 95 Southbound
(New) Tuesday ˗˗ Wednesday, 1 a.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue). Crews will be cleaning the southbound side of the new overpass till 5 a.m. All travel lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m. each evening.
 
Route 1 Northbound at Mary Washington Boulevard
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. A single right lane will be closed on northbound Route 1 from Alvey Drive to the Rappahannock Canal. Crews will be installing guardrail. Expect brief delays approaching the work zone.
 
Mary Washington Boulevard
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median with crews working to install new curb and paving.
 
Fall Hill Avenue
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:

·         Route 606 (Post oak Road) ˗˗ drainage work
·         Route 608 (Benchmark Road) ˗˗ brush removal

Caroline County
 
Route 301 Northbound
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. A single northbound lane will be closed on Route 301 (A.P. Hill Boulevard) near Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) before Port Royal. Crews will be replacing guardrail along the right shoulder. Brief delays are possible near the work zone.
 
Route 207
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. A single eastbound lane will be closed on Route 207 (Bowling Green Bypass) just a mile west of Route 301 (Richmond Turnpike). Crews will be replacing guardrail along the left shoulder. Brief delays are possible near the work zone.

Middlesex County/Lancaster County
 
Robert. O. Norris Bridge
(Update) Monday ˗˗ Tuesday, 8 a.m. ˗˗ 5 p.m.  Motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 3 at the Norris Bridge, as crews install bird netting to the bridge. An automated flagging station at the bridge approach will control one-way traffic across the Rappahannock River, one direction at a time.   Motorists should expect delays at the bridge.  VDOT personnel will monitor traffic conditions.
 
Lancaster County/Richmond County
 
Route 3
(Update) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 8:30 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Motorists should expect intermittent single lane closures and brief delays on Route 3 at various locations in this mobile work zone. Crews will installing new guardrail along Route between the Lancaster/Richmond County line, the town of Lively, Route 201 (White Chapel Road) and Route 354 (River Road).

City of Fredericksburg
 
Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project 
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal bridge and Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park), as well as on Mary Washington Boulevard. Project completion is January 2017.
 
Route 1/ Hazel Run Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Work to improve the Route 1 bridge over Hazel Run in the city of Fredericksburg is underway. The bridge is located on Route 1 between Idlewood Boulevard and Kings Mill Drive. Motorists should be alert to construction equipment and crews working along the shoulder until early spring.  All travel lanes will be open in the work zone.  The bridge rehabilitation project is expected to be complete in May 2017.
 
Stafford County
 
95 Express Lanes Southern Terminus Extension
Construction is underway to extend 95 Express Lanes in Stafford County. The approximate 2.5 mile extension will carry traffic beyond the flyover ramp where 95 Express Lanes currently end, just north of Exit 143/Route 610 (Garrisonville Road). The new southbound exit ramp is scheduled to open by early 2018, and the northbound entrance ramp will open in summer 2018.
 
I-95/Route 630 (Courthouse Road) Widening and Interchange Relocation
Preliminary geotechnical work is underway on a project to improve the I-95 interchange at Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road). The project includes building a diverging diamond interchange at Exit 140, relocating the Courthouse Rd. and Rt. 1 intersection to the south to align with Hospital Center Boulevard, widen Courthouse Rd. to four lanes, and add a traffic signal at the entrance to Colonial Forge High School. Construction to widen Courthouse Road will begin in summer 2017, and the entire project is expected to be complete by summer 2020.
 
Route 610/Onville Road Intersection Improvement Project
Construction is underway at the intersection of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) and Route 641 (Onville Road) to build additional turn lanes. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction on Onville Road. Project completion is May 2017.
 
Spotsylvania County
 
Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) Interstate 95 Overpass Replacement and Road Improvements
The project to build a new I-95 overpass on Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road), provide improvements to interstate ramps, Mudd Tavern Road east of I-95 and Mallard Road is underway. Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment on I-95 between mile marker 119 and Exit 118 (Route 606/Thornburg), Mudd Tavern Road, and Mallard Road. Construction for the $22.4 million project is expected to be complete by September 2019.
Route 1 and Route 620 (Harrison Road)
Construction to build additional turn lanes and extend existing turn lanes is underway at the intersection of Route 1 and Harrison Road in Spotsylvania County. Motorists should be alert for construction crews and equipment. Project completion is May 2018.
 
Caroline County/King George County
 
Route 301 at Rappahannock River
Bridge rehabilitation is underway on the James Madison Memorial Bridge over the Rappahannock River. Maintenance will occur below the bridge deck and includes repairing concrete, replacing bearings, shoring up rip-rap on the slope, and replacing navigation lights. All lanes are currently open on the bridge, but single lane closures will be in place periodically. Project completion is October 2017.
 
King George County
 
Route 218/Route 206 Intersection
Crews will be working to install a new traffic signal at the Route 218 (Caledon Road) and Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) intersection. Most construction work will occur outside the existing travel lanes till spring 2017. Project completion is fall 2017.
 
Caroline County/King and Queen County
 
Route 721 (Newtown Road)
Construction is underway to build a new bridge over Beverly Creek at the Caroline County and King and Queen County line.  Motorists are restricted to a single lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal in the work zone. The project is expected to be complete in July 2017.
